No, I actually do not believe that this political page belongs on the Fiasco
Farms web site! However, as explained below, I had to do something. Starting
a new politically oriented web site was out of the question because of the work
involved in maintenance and upkeep, but who knows in the future? So if you don't
want to see this at Fiasco Farms, ignore the link and pretend it's not here.
I don't intend to offend anyone. I just want to express some opinions and get
more people involved in voting and the facts, and away from the "boob tube"!
And I'll warn you right away, this is a personal soap box... Fiasco Farms is
a web site based pretty much on humor and family fun. But not this page. This
is serious stuff and our entire future depends on the outcome...
This page will not be for everyone. This is my personal way to vent my frustrations
at some politicians who use the media hype and emotional garbage to get themselves
votes, at our expense. Everything expressed here is simply my opinion. If you
don't agree, that's fine because that's the kind of freedom this country (the
USA) is about! If you agree, that's fine too, as long as you're willing to do
something about it!!
I will NEVER promote or endorse any form of violent or unlawful method
of changing our government or it's policies! Our government has all the means
for change built right in to accomplish this lawfully and peacefully. And it's
so simple that most people don't even think about it. VOTE! Write your representatives!
Join organizations. They don't all require active participation that will steal
any of your precious time, but membership numbers and money count for a lot!
Do your part!!!
NO! We do NOT have to give up our civil liberties in order to be safe! I am sick and tired of hearing on the radio and tv about how we "will have to give up our civil liberties in order to be safe". And to beat it all, absolutely nothing they are all recommending to keep us safe would have prevented the recent disaster in NYC! They talk about a "time of war" and WWII. Do they really want to bring up WWII? A time when the US sank to it's lowest by illegally imprisoning US citizens of Japanese, Italian and German decent in concentration camps. And what "time of war"? Congress has not declared war on anyone! We gave up no civil liberties during the Korean or the Vietnam wars, and they were real wars! (although undeclared!) This current situation is no more than an international police act until the US actually invades someone and makes an official declaration of war, by Congress! If we allow ourselves to be suckered in by the mass media and the professional politicians by giving up our civil liberties, then we will no longer be the United States of America! For these very liberties and freedoms are what make this country. Take them away and we will simply be another cold war East European police state!
And what about Mayor Gulliani of NYC? He has had a long history of ignoring civil liberties and standing laws. Now he wants to break yet another law by imposing his reign on that poor city for a third term! Can no one impose law on Gulliani? Doesn't anyone remember the mass arrests and harassments caused by this man? The illegal censorship of art and literature? The police state he created in Manhattan? Illegal? Yes! He has lost at least 22 civil law suits in a row! And he will now rule for a third term? He has done nothing for NYC except promote himself, shamelessly! It is the police, firemen and rescue workers who have handled the current disaster. What do you honestly think Gulliani has done? Except impose yet more restrictions on civil liberties in that city!
First off, congratulations to President George Bush for the speech he made on September 20, 2001 about what the USA will do in response to the horrendous attack on this country by terrorists. Now... "The Office of Homeland Security"??? "Homeland"..."Fatherland"..."Motherland"... What's the difference? "Homeland Security"..."Storm Troupers"..."SS"..."Secret Police"... What's the difference? I don't know and neither do you! Watch out for this and make damned sure it's temporary! Somebody better keep a close eye on this organization or we'll be in big trouble real soon! If ever there was a start to a fascist state, this is it! Now, I am not saying that this is where we are going or that our government has plans on going in that direction. What I am saying is that this is how it historically starts and if we are not very careful, those of us who cherish our freedoms will be in jail as political dissidents and the rest of you will be working for the State!

Stop American Fascism before it starts! Our representatives are taking advantage of our preoccupation with the recent terrible disaster to take away more of our freedoms and rights. Once gone, they will never return! Yet again, the 'National ID Card' is being proposed to "keep track of the travels" of the American citizens! "Your papers please!" Haven't we seen this enough throughout history to know where it leads? Use some common sense here and write your representatives to tell them "NO national ID card!" If you want to help stop this madness, feel free to 'borrow' the "Just say No - National ID Card" logo for your web site. I sure wouldn't mind hearing about it also! Here's an even smaller icon sized one.
Gov. Pataki has done it yet again with this absurd cell phone driving ban law he just forced through and will take effect in December of 2001. I have no doubts whatsoever that this was prompted by the lagging cell phone industry as their sales slump to new lows because this will force people to either buy new cell phones or purchase expensive upgrades & add-ons to their existing equipment. It's just another "political headline" law that aids industry (which doesn't even manufacture in NY!) and makes headlines for Pataki. In case you may not know, this is another duplicate law that is totally unnecessary and completely wasteful of our money and the legislature's time. The NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) clearly states that _both_ hands must be in active operation of the motor vehicle at all times. This means that both hands have to be either on the steering wheel or, for manual shift, shifting gears while you are driving. You are not allowed to use one (or both) hands to use a cell phone, eat a hamburger or read the paper! It's been the law for longer than anyone could remember! But they have to pass a new law just to make industry happy, sell new phones & equipment, make newspaper headlines and brag about how they're protecting us.... And if you want to talk 'law', they say "pull over to the side of the road to use your cell phone..." Well, no matter where your car is, as long as the keys are in the ignition switch you are driving! This is also the law. So according to this new law, no matter where your car is, if the keys are in the ignition and you use your cell phone, you're breaking the law!
Something new... Genetically engineered food! We're eating it, we may never know what it will do to us, it may take generations for the results to be clear. Once released into the environment, it can never be recalled or stopped! As reported in our local newspaper, BT corn pollutes the ground it grows in forever! What are the consequences of the other products these big corporations are forcing on us? They spend millions to prevent us from even knowing that we are eating these products! WHY? We have become the largest biological experiment ever conceived in the history of mankind! Did you know that there are flounder genes in your tomatoes? Did you know that BT corn kills the Monarch butterflies? Did you know that you eat genetically modified food products already? The thought of these "all knowing" scientists forcing this on us and telling us it is safe is beyond comprehension. They are altering the very fabric of life itself, but they know it's safe! How? Honestly, I've never been a fan of GreenPeace, but they're right on the mark here and I will be supporting them!

Every single day more and more laws are passed denying us our freedoms. Some
of these freedoms are the very basic ones guaranteed by our Constitution! Others
may not be "rights", but still personal freedoms. "Our"
lawmakers use fancy rhetoric and emotional claptrap to convince the unwary public
that these laws are "for our good and safety". Anyone who reads and
pays attention knows better! There are ways to fight this political system and
maintain our guaranteed rights! We'll list some ways here and are always open
to more suggestions, links, contacts, etc...
I'll admit right up front that this page was brought forth by the recent law
forced upon us by Governor G. Pataki of NY. We live in NY for those who didn't
know. This radical and unconstitutional "gun control law" was strong-armed
through by the Governor and will cost the residents of NY millions of dollars
and accomplish absolutely nothing! I'm fed up with this kind of politics and
this is one small way I can fight back... Obviously, there are a few politicians
that will NOT be getting my vote in November!
These costly and completely bogus "gun control laws" do nothing to
prevent or stop crime. All non-biased studies prove that more legal guns means
less crime. You can argue that, but you'd be wrong!
Want to prevent crime? It's not easy or cheap. But the end result is a society
that we might just want to live in. Educate! How many of our children drop out
of school? How good of an education do our schools offer? Make available jobs
that pay a living wage, affordable housing, affordable food and clothing and dignity to the people. Open up the schools at night for informal sports
and games instead of making our children spend their time on street corners.
There will be much less crime! Get whole communities involved in reclaiming
'bad neighborhoods' and turning them around. Education and job opportunities
are the entire key to a crime free society. But our politicians are not willing
to do the work and invest the time needed. They would rather pass more worthless
laws and grandstand them to the public, then build more jails to house the new
criminals and grandstand that to the public. And throughout this entire process,
we pay the price in both money and personal freedoms lost.
In an area near us, they are arguing how much to spend on a new jail. 25 or
30 MILLION dollars, and that for only 240 to 250 inmates! Will they ever ask
the citizens their opinion? Not likely! How about we put that 30 million towards
revamping our school systems so they actually educate our children? How about
we initiate programs to help families stay together so children have both parents
to look up to? How about tax breaks to guarantee living wage jobs? No, that's
far too much work for our government to take on. Better to just pass more laws
and build new jails...
Did you know that there are over 50,000 children in care of the Social Services
of New York State? How many of these children, withering away in foster care,
will grow up to be criminals? Do they have the education and family values to
get them through life? I don't think so. And, in our county, you can not even
adopt one of these children to offer them a loving home and family life because
they are not white or Christian! Our county DSS will not allow the adoption
on minority or non-Christian children into our county! I have seen this through
personal experience! How does such bigotry exist in our own governmental system?
And why do we have so much crime??? It is our tax dollars that support such
a system!
And while I'm "soap boxing" here. It's about time (and well past!)
that this country and NYS starts honoring it's treaties with the Native Peoples
of this continent! We stole their land, made their religions illegal ("freedom
of religion"? not for Natives!), stole their heritage, history and languages.
It's about time we gave them back some of their land, honored the many
treaties that the US and NYS has signed and make some effort to repay them for
all the indignities that we have forced on them for generations! And that includes
cleaning up the toxic waste in the land and water that we forced them to live
on!
Do your part to turn this process around!

Join the NRA, the Nation Rifle Association NOW! It doesn't cost much and they are the foremost organization founded to protect our Constitution. Yes, not just the Second Amendment! The NRA's bylaws state the entire Constitution. Of course they focus on the Second Amendment Rights because they are most endangered by our current politicians and people too lazy or ignorant to find out the truths and do the research. |

Visit the Fully Informed Jury Association web site and learn that as a juror, you not only have the Constitutional Right and responsibility to judge not only the crime, but the very law itself! The court system will tell you otherwise, and why is that??? This is the way to get rid of those bogus laws they keep forcing on us! |
Write to your representatives! This is extremely important. Letters cause a
much greater impact than phone calls. Today, e-mails are as good or even better
and much more convenient. If you don't know who your representative is, check
the following link. All you need is your zip code (all 9 digits, 5 + 4) and
you will be presented with all your elected representatives.

They have all the info you could want about how your representatives have voted, pending legislation, honest news reports and studies, etc. And while you're there, make a contribution!! |
